Outstanding Achievement in Economic Development

Omega Engineering Inc., was recognized and honored with a prestigious Award on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 for
Outstanding Achievement in Economic Development in the Tri-Country area of Southern NJ (Gloucester, Camden and
Burlington Counties)
The award was presented at the first annual Tri-County Economic Development Summit in the
Cherry Hill, NJ area. This summit encompassed approximately 200-300 attendees and the political leadership from
Gloucester, Camden and Burlington Counties were present along with the Economic Development team many businesses
and sponsors of event such as financial institutions and major utility suppliers.
There were a total of 6 awards presented in categories such as Healthcare, Transportation and others.
Omega won the award in the Category of Technology, specifically for the Class 10 Clean Room facility and thin
film manufacturing technology developed and utilized in the Bridgeport, NJ operations (Omega South).
Omega utilizes the clean room and thin film technology to make industry leading temperature, pressure
and other process control devices. These high tech products are being used in applications such as measuring
temperatures and pressures in aircraft and submarines, along with the development of cleaner and more efficient
cars, trucks and other vehicles. The sensors also used in applications such as the development of new
pharmaceuticals or medical equipment in Universities, Research facilities and throughout Industry.
The award presented by Stephen Sweeny the Gloucester County Freeholder Director and NJ State Senator,
and by Joseph Brigandi, Jr. another leading Gloucester County Freeholder. Mr. Brigandi also provided the 300
event attendees an overview of Omega, including thanking us for the long term jobs, investment, growth and
support in Gloucester County, NJ area.
Mike Plale, Joe Urban and Jim Ferguson accepted the award for Omega and the team had the opportunity to
thank the freeholders and their teams for this honor along with the opportunity to briefly mention the ongoing
efforts and innovations to develop, manufacture and service our customer from USA based operations.
Each County Director of Economic Development presented the growth performance in their respective
county and the projects/performance in each county was impressive. The Gloucester County Director, Lisa Morina,
also emphasized Omega Engineering, Inc., and our Clean Room technology to reinforce the growth and success in her
Gloucester County presentation.
