The OS93 electrical scanner is a patented infrared temperature scanner with Autozero function. It is the instrument of choice for professionals conducting regular scans of electrical equipment up to 5 feet distance. Insurance companies and utilities have recommended guidelines for use with infrared inspection, which has proven to be a very fast, easy and effective way to locate electrical problems. These problem areas are always given away by the heat they generate. By locating them quickly, costly or dangerous problems can be avoided.
The unique scanning display, combined with high resolution optics, allows you to locate hotspots clearly and from a safe, convenient area. The Autozero feature automatically locks in your reference temperature so differential measurements can be made. Just push the button, then aim at ambient or reference temperature, then scan your equipment. Inaccessible electrical connections can be safely scanned with the electrically isolated “see-around-corners” periscope tube kit option. The color-coded bar graph indicates °C rise instantly to indicate those few components that actually need service. Designed and calibrated traceable to NIST, the calibration lasts for the lifetime of the instrument.
