Temperature Controller with Thermistor Inputs that allows you to monitor and control temperature or process applications with precision. The CN243 Series provides dual LED displays for local indication of process value and setpoint value. Control methods include on/off, PID, auto-tune and manual-tune. Controller includes a 3-setpoint ramp/soak control feature, alarm functions with optional RS485 communications heater loop break alarm. Analog output can be programmed for either control or retransmission of process variable. An optional software package CN-SW-HW-KIT includes cable and configuration module for quick configuration of units, as well as copying configuration parameters from one unit to another. The configuration module can also be purchased separately and with a built-in battery feature, configuration settings can be downloaded and copied to the module without power applied to controller. The module can then be plugged into a new unit without power applied and the configuration setting can be transferred for easy set-up for multiple units.

This little guy can do it allI bought the Omega PID controller instead of one of the cheap ones on eBay because I'm an engineer by training and I have used Omega in industrial applications and know the quality. Also, it is not easy to find a PID controller that has a proportional analog output (0-10V is the option I purchased). I have played around with this now and verified it to be very accurate from 0-100 C. My application is a hobby project-- a natural gas fired smokehouse and I am very happy with the control signal I'm getting out of this controller to drive my proportional gas valve. With the power and flexibility comes complexity. The manual has the information, but you have to work for it. I imagine most people just call their applications engineers, but I managed to get everything configured and working with about 3 times through the terse manual and trial and error. Be patient, it is worth it. A true user guide or application guide would go a long way, Omega.
