Description

The OM-22, OM-23 and OM-24 are multiple use temperature and humidity data loggers that are ideal for a wide range of test and measurement, quality control, and environmental monitoring applications. They conveniently generate a PDF and Excel report on completion of data logging. The OM-22 measures ambient temperature using an internal thermistor temperature sensor. The OM-23 measures ambient temperature and also accepts an external thermistor temperature probe as input. Model OM-24 measures ambient temperature and relative humidity. These data loggers are completely user-programmable including language selection, sampling interval, start delay, alarm delay, temperature units, alarm range, alarm type, password and user name. No special software or driver is required for setup or download of data. The data logger appears as a mass storage device when connected to the PC. The user manual, a calibration certificate and data logger configuration utility are all stored in the data logger.

To setup the data logger simply plug it into a USB port on your computer and run the on-board configuration utility. Once configuration is complete the data logger can be removed from the PC’s USB port. On completion of data logging re-connect the data logger to the computer and open the configuration utility. Choose the function convert to PDF or convert to Excel and select the desired location on your computer to store the reports. The PDF report contains the data summary, graph and tabular results. The Excel report contains all of the information in the PDF report except for the graph.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Logger (for the most part) I have bought roughly 10 of these over the past 8 years. We use them for monitoring the temperature and humidity of a control room for Concrete testing. For the most part these are solid units. I have had a couple that had the screens go out on them after 5 years or so and the plastic gets discolored when exposed to sunlight. One had the temperature go out and it only lets you calibrate it slightly from the original settings. That said these generally work great with those few exceptions. The program for the PC is easy to use and understand. I will continue to purchase these as needed.

Temperature accuracy is as advertised (they give the exact same reading to the tenth of a degree C and these temps match other accurate devices I have. The relative humidity values vary by 0.5%, but this is in the advertised range. Very easy devices to set-up and to remove data..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value. Excellent product. After 2 weeks of testing I'm going to give the OM-141 4 stars. If I could give it a 4.9 I would do that. I've only had one problem so far and it is not a showstopper. I initially set the sampling rate to 30 seconds to collect and simulate a collection of many data-points, way more than we need), and in one week it had collected more data than the software seemed to download without a 'timeout' error being thrown. There needs to be a way to set the timeout value. When I put these in production we will set the sample rate to 12 hours, more than adequate for our needs, but I'd like to only download the data when I receive an alarm. if my freezers are doing well, I can foresee a timeout occurring if the time between downloads is sufficiently long to record a bunch of data-points. In device setup, the sensitivity of the slider to set High/Low points is way too sensitive and I end up setting bounds slightly different from what I want. Not a big deal, but frustrating. As I explore the software I am continually surprised by how many features are available. The best advice I can give to new users of the products is to "Read the **** manual". Another problem we experienced had nothing to do with the device, but rather it was cockpit trouble: when we placed two of the device, I forgot to hit the start-button. I don't know what the solution would be on the OM141 to protect us from operator (me) error. Add that to your "would be a nice feature to have" list.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for general monitoring We really like the OM-70 series for monitoring temperature and humidity during our testing. They work well and the software is easy to use. The only issue we have is that they will not stay in calibration in the lower 10 degrees C of the published range and there is no adjustment to correct this. We calibrate them to 10 C above the published low range and they work well there.

I would like to know what is the maximum distance the logger can be from the sensors in the wired version? Is it possible to have the probes place approx. 20 meters from the device? will the information carry that far?

The OM-71 has a built in sensor it does not have a remote sensor. Take a look at the OM-74 that has a external thermocouple connection so you can use a remote probe and 20 meters is no problem for a thermocouple.

Hello Marc As long as it is one of the following thermocouple types: J, K, T, E, R, S, B, C or N Also the probe will need either a standard round prong or mini blade type connector attached at the end so it can connect to the transmitter.

What are the physical dimensions of the unit (length)? I would need to add the length of the thermocouple plug to find the overall length of the assembly. I need to verify if it will fit in our enclosure.

Hello Scott The dimensions of the device are 82.5 L x 25.4 W x 15.2 H mm (3.25 x 1 x 0.6") A mini-thermocouple connector's dimensions when connected to the transmitter are 20.6 (0.81") by 7.9 (0.31") and the width being 16.8 (0.66)

I have the HH-309A temp mapping tool, it was working while I was running on windows 7 but not that I am running windows 10 the tool no longer shows a connection to the computer. Is there another program that I need to download?

Scott, The problem is the driver. Not the program. I have the HH-309A as well and the communication to the unit stopped working with Windows 10. Luckily Windows 10 identifies my USB to serial cable (labeled USB-300 by Omega) as: - CP2102 USB to UART serial connection. But the provided driver by Microsoft did not work... nor the original driver by Omega. I found the Silicon Labs CP210x driver to USB connection in this site: https://www.pololu.com/docs/0J7/all#2 I installed the X64 bit version of it and it now shows in the Windows Device Manager under Port (COM & LPT) as: Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM1) I re-installed the SE309 Software from the original mini-CD disk that came with the HH-309A unit and everything is now working perfect. Thanks for your questions. Unfortunately, the OM-141 (or the OM-HL-SP) will not support Linux since both logger’s software is designed for Windows. However, we can recommend the product OM-HL-SP, the max logging rate is 1 sec and the default is set to 60 secs. Please contact us anytime with further questions.
