Oven temperature profiling can help ensure that a quality product is consistently produced. Profiling enables users to optimize their process, prove process control and make corrections to a process when required.
This eight channel thermally insulated, battery powered, oven temperature recorder is able to withstand extreme temperatures. The OM-CP-OCTTHERMOVAULT can withstand oven temperatures of up to 350ºC (662ºF) for up to 25 minutes when properly sealed. Its stainless steel enclosure and thermal properties lend itself to be the ideal temperature recording device for applications such as powder coating cure ovens, wet coating cure ovens, batch ovens and conveyor ovens. The external thermocouple probes provide accurate temperature measurements, with fast response times. Our user-friendly software easily downloads the data to a computer, where the readings may be displayed in degrees Celsius, degrees Fahrenheit, Kelvin or Rankine.
The software allows the user to view all data points or a range of data points and a summary of the data being viewed for calculations such as Mean Kinetic Temperature (MKT). If additional analysis of the data needs to be performed, the data can be easily exported to Excel® by simply clicking a button. Data retrieval is simple. Plug the device into an available COM port and our easy-to-use software does the rest. The software converts a PC into a real-time strip chart recorder. Data can be printed in graphical and tabular format or exported to a text or Microsoft Excel file.

It's OK.As delivered it said even fresh outdoor air was @ 25ppm CO. After re-zero-ing, it now says indoor air is between 0 and 15ppm CO (constantly wandering in this range, even if our furnace and gas stove are completely shut down). It is not quite as accurate as I was hoping for.

Accessory AnnoyingI bought this because it is readily available albeit a bit pricey. Although it is shown with mating connectors, THEY DON'T COME WITH IT!!! I got it fast but can't use it.

Great buying experience great productWe need this to test our oven daily for proper temperatures. It works great and is a quality product. Our previous Omega was in use daily for 8 years. We needed a replacement.

Works but all thermocouple types must be the sameThe datalogger and software is simple enough to use and the software for this datalogger is better than some of the other software omega provides for other data collection devices. It does exactly what is needed, log data.
The major disadvantage of the 4 channel data logger is that all of the channels must be the same thermocouple type. It does not state anywhere on the website, the specification sheet or the manual that all the thermocouple types must be the same. Only after purchase and looking a little deeper, I only found the only place that it was mentioned that all thermocouple types must be the same was in the quick start guide. Now I need to purchase new thermocouples so I can log data from all my thermocouples.

Reliable reading and reproducibilityWe purchased this model instead of other cheaper versions hoping to get an industrial level accuracy and reliability for the reading. We are quite happy on the reading stability and reproducibility so far. Repeated measurements comparing with fresh outdoor air has been done and this meter has proven to be solid. Battery life is also quite good.
On the other side, you would need a Windows computer to be able to do logging. The unit does not log anything internally.
The meter not only responds to Formaldehyde. It also responds to, say, acetone, tested so far. I would recommend Omega to provide a list of VOCs this meter is also responding to, and the associated corrections need to be applied. Or simply put the options into the firmware.
It is not easy to tell if you are actually getting response from Formaldehyde or it could be some other VOCs being measured. In some limited scenarios, you could associate with the actual smell to distinguish the actual gas you are dealing with. For example, if you are using acetone to do some cleaning, you know the reading is from Acetone.
