The LD400 Series miniature dc output LVDT transducers provide a method of measuring displacements up to ±5 mm (±0.20 inch) with very high accuracy and infinite resolution. They have a free-guided armature incorporating Acetal bearings, which provide near frictionless motion to detect the smallest movement the associated instrumentation is capable of identifying. These transducers utilize a precision linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) as the measuring source, together with hybrid ICs which include an oscillator, demodulator, and filter; together, they comprise a self-contained unit that accepts dc input and provides dc output relative to armature position. The unit's high linearity and low mass of moving parts is ideally suited to applications in civil, mechanical, chemical and production engineering.

Is it possible to just order the pin? This part bends and does not necessarily need the entire LVDT replaced, just the pin in the center.

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. Part number for the replacment core is LD400-5-CORE/ASSEMBLY Cost $94.31 eaach

What is the resolution of this sensor ?

Asked by: ROHITH
Rohith typically resolution on LVDTs will be infinite, but you will read accurately to the second decimal typically. Most times it will be defined by the number of digits on your readout or DAQ system. Thank you.

Does the LD400 have any environmental protection? What is the IP rating?

Asked by: Cewell
There are no IP or NEMA ratings for the the LD400 displacement sensor.

Is there a repalcement for the LD400-1's pin? I see that there is one for the 2.5 and 5mm version under the "LD400-X-CORE/ASSEMBLY", but there does not appear to be one for the 1mm version.

Asked by: CFTHOR
Thank you for your inquiry, Unfortunately, we do not carry the Core Assembly for the LD400-1

Do these sensors come with signal conditioners? If not, which signal conditioners do you offer are most compatible with these sensors?

Asked by: AJKJD
The LD400-5 has a 54mV/V/mm sensitivity. It can be powered by a regulated DC Voltage between 10V and 24VDC. If you used the high end excitation of 24VDC (54mm X 24VDC X 5mm) you would be getting a +/- 6.480 VDC output signal from the sensor. You may required signal conditioning
