Description

The FDT-25 handheld ultrasonic flowmeter is designed to work with clamp-on transducers to enable the flow of a liquid within a closed pipe to be measured accurately without needing to insert any mechanical parts through the pipe wall or protrude into the flow system.

Using ultrasonic transit time techniques, the FDT-25 is controlled by a micro-processor system which contains a wide range of data that enables it to be used with pipes with an outside diameter ranging from 15mm up to 6000mm (depending on model) and constructed of almost any material. The instrument will also operate over a wide range of fluid temperatures.

FDT-25 comes complete with:
1 ea. Handheld Ultrasonic Flow Meter
2 ea. Standard Clamp on Transducers for Pipe Sizes 3/4" to 4"
2 ea. Transducer Chains
2 ea. Transducer Clamps
1 ea. 3M Ruler
1 ea. Acoustic gel for Standard Transducers
1 ea. Universal Power Adapter/Charger
1 ea. RS232 Computer Cable
Transducers for larger pipe sizes and extended temperature ranges are available in the Accessories Section for an additional charge.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Portable Flow meter The flow meter is decent. But the manual is sorely lacking. I had to look up youtube videos because it doesn't tell you anything about applying the gel, or the chain or anything. I don't understand how to use the chain. It should have come with straps to keep the magnets in place because they tend to slip on a vertical pipe. Other than that the flow meter seems to work ok, but I was not very sure how accurate the flow is.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor Submenu for Compatible Transducers Plenty of positives to the meter. The biggest downfall is that the compatible transducers are not listed in the transducer type submenu. There is no reason for this to be a confusing process but this submenu in particular is terrible.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meters worked well, overall. I ordered seven of these meters. One shipped with a completely dead battery that would not hold a charge. Very disappointing. Others worked well on bare galvanized and bare stainless steel pipe. Ask Omega tech support for a helpful install guide (you have to ask for it - not included in box).

Is there a way of transmitting data via real time to some sort of data logger to track current flow/transmitted volume over a period of time?

Asked by: TryingEngineering123
Thank you for your inquiry! The FDT-25 can store data directly or have data directed to RS-232 so that all of the data collected is transmitted through the RS-232 interface.

Which transducers are included with this product, if any? Do you need to buy two transducers from the accessories page for the product to function or do they come in sets of two?

Asked by: WaterWizard
The standard transducer is included with the portable flow meter which is for pipe diameters from 0.75 to 4 inch and if measuring flow rate in larger pipes then, a second set needs to be purchased.

I want to buy the Hi-temp transducer with the portable flow meter which is for pipe diameters from 0.75 to 4 inch. I don't need the standard transducer. Do I need to buy the Hi-temp transducer from the accessories page or the price is same in your website

Asked by: Huyen
Thank you for your inquiry. The part number for the high temperature transducer for the pipe diameter range mentioned is HT-HS and it is a separate purchase and the standard transducer is included. This part is located in the Accessories tab on this Product Page as well.

What's the lowest flow rate of water it could measure in a 2" polyethylene pipe?

Asked by: Kyle Water
Thank you for your inquiry on the portable flow meter. There is an equation that wil help to determine the minimum and maximum flow rates by using the following: 2.45 x ID^2 x fps equals to gallons per minute ( ID is the pipe diameter and fps is feet per second ) 2.45 x (2^2) x 0.03 = 0.3 gpm

Could it be use to measure refrigerant 410A?

Asked by: Veronica T
Thank you for your inquiry! The FDT-25 can be used with nearly all clean liquids as long as the speed of sound is known. If the liquid is not a standard media type pre-programmed into the unit then this value has to be entered by the user. This flow meter is not suitable for use with gases.

Does the kit come in a carry case or does one need to be purchased separate? It is clearly shown in the FDT-21 user manual, but not for the FDT-25.

Asked by: JuanD
Thanks for your question. Yes, the FDT-25 kit comes with a carry case.
