Product Specs

Omega’s High Temperature Mica heaters have high watt density capabilities and provide broad temperature range for industrial applications. They are low profile and consist of an etched foil element between layers of high quality mica.

Mica heaters are ideal for applications requiring fast cycle times like DNA thermocycling. Their superior thermal uniformity and fast cycle times makes it ideal for semiconductor processing, plastic & rubber molding, and food service applications.

Installation requires clamping to heat sinks. Use included ceramic paper for uniform clamping pressure and thermal insulation for improved reliability. Light smoke is produced due to organic binder burn off only when heaters are first powered. Heaters may break if installed after burn-in.

Additional Mounting Information:

Clamp to any flat surface either with a clamping mechanism outside the heater area or by using a backing plate and bolt through the pre-punched bolt holes. All heaters come with one piece of matching 0.125” (3 mm) thick ceramic paper for use as a resilient pad on the lead bulge side of the heater.

Is this heater vacuum compatible afyer burn-in?

The Heater should be installed in it's final location before powering it up because the binder burns off and is not recommending moving afterwards. There is no data concerning additional outgassing after this step for use in vacuum so it is not recommended by Omega for that use.
