Standard tapes are made from fine gage stranded resistance wires that are double insulated with braided Samox and knitted into flat tapes for maximum flexibility. A heavy insulated tape is made by taking a standard tape and braiding it between layers of Samox yarn. Wide tapes are made from two or more standard tapes that are sewn between two layers of Samox cloth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome heat conduction We bought this product for my cousin in SA. He has a mechanical seals manufacturing business. The only way to make a permanent seal is with heat...we could not find a more effective product with awesome heat conduction for this purpose. It works like magic.

Has anyone had issues with smoking and color changing to white upon first use with these tapes?

Asked by: LK113
There are binders in the tape that may smoke when first used and the color can change. Make sure the tape is in good contact with what is being heated across it's entire surface to ensure good Thermal conduction and the prevention of overheating.

Does the heat tape come with mounting or attachment connection points?

The Heater tape does not have mounting or connection points. Attach the heating tape to the surface by using aluminum tape, fiberglass tape, or a mechanical clamping devices which will not cause damage to the heating tape

what is the maximum operating temp of the Ultra-High Temperature Heating Tapes. I need to heat pipes to minimum temp of 900 degrees fahrenheit. Will these work for that? And how would it take to get to that temperature.

Asked by: magretech
The Ultra -High Temperature Heating Tapes can achieve a continuous operating temperature of 1400F. To know how hot a process can get using the tapes will be determined by the Wattage required for the specific Thermal load and the operating environment.
