The new ones seem very reliable and the sensor-to-sensor variation between the two that I bought is much smaller than it was for the old ones.

    How do I install this sensor in a pipe?

    This sensor has a 1/4 npt male pipe thread as it's process connection. You will need to install a 1/4 npt female fitting on your pipe. On small diameter pipes you can usually install at tee fitting in-line with the pipe that would have this connection.

    Hi, we have a PX409-16BI transmitter that we are developing a validation procedure for. Stated zero and span tolerances are +/- 0.5% FS typical with a +/- 1% FS maximum. Which should I use for validation? (BSL is not a validation tolerance)

    I have a PX409-3.5KGUSBH model transducer that currently reads absolute pressure. Can I calibrate the transducer in house to read relative gauge pressure instead?

    Thank you for your inquiry While the construction of a gauge or absolute sensor is fundamentally different, in this case where your sensor has a range of 3,500 psi A is so large it should be fine. This issue is that an absolute sensor has no way to react to changes in atmospheric pressure like a gauge sensor does. The typical worst-case limits in atmospheric pressure changes (if you don't change your elevation) are between 13.5 – 15.0 psi, or about 1.5 psi, this is only (1.5/3500*100) = 0.04% FS change for the sensor, smaller than the error band! You can safely ignore atmospheric pressure changes for this device and offset your device to represent a gauge pressure reading. hope this was helpful?

    Would the 0 to 350 mbar range transducer be accurate enough to read a 1/10 of a mbar? We are mostly interested in looking at absolute pressures ~1/10 to 10 mbar.

    Accuracy specification for this unit is 0.08%. This means your allowable error for the 0 to 350mbar range unit would be +/- 0.28 mbar. This would not be accurate enough for your requirement.

    The three available accuracy ranges these sensors are 0.03%,0.05% & 0.08%. Accuracy is based on the full scale range of the sensor. Available pressure ranges from a low range of 0 to 10"wc up to 0 to 7500 PSI

    Hello, we need to measure up to 20 Bar pressure absolute. You offer a 17.5 Bar and 30 Bar option. Would the 17.5 Bar sensor report up to 20 Bar, and without causing damage?

    Hello, Thank you for contacting Omega Engineering. If you want to measure 20 bar absolute you should not use the 17.5 Bar absolute unit, you may damage the diaphragm. Please go with the 30 bar absolute model. Thank you.
