    What is the accuracy of the PX409 Series?

    The PX409 Series has a high accuracy of ±0.08% BSL and includes linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability. To obtain their high accuracy and stability, the PX409 Series uses state-of-the-art digital mapping of the temperature, pressure, and output performance of the silicon sensor in conjunction with a custom ASIC to provide dynamic thermal compensation across the temperature and pressure parameters.

    Is the PX409 Series suitable for any liquid and gas applications?

    OMEGA piezoresistive pressure transducers have a proven record in high performance commercial and aerospace applications for over 25 years. The piezoresistive process and the construction of the PX409 Series provides a very rugged transducer with exceptional accuracy, stability, and thermal effects. The PX409 Series is all stainless steel (316 SS) wetted parts. Please ensure the media under measurement is compatible with wetted parts.

    Is the PX409 Series calibrated?

    The Px409 Series are calibrated using extremely high accuracy equipment and a 5-point NIST traceable calibration certificate that is included with each transducer. It is recommended that the sensor be recalibrated once a year. The most popular ranges and configurations are stocked for immediate delivery. All others typically have a very short lead-time.

    How can I install a PX409 Series in a pipe? Does it need a specific orientation (vertical or horizontal)?

    The PX409 Series has a ¼ - 18 NPT male fitting that is threaded into a pipe fitting for installation. There is no specific orientation needed – the unit is calibrated in the vertical direction with fitting down. The sensor is designed to be quickly customized to meet your exacting specifications, often with fast delivery.

    I would like to confirmation that the M12C-PVC-4-R-F-10 is the correct cable for pressure transducer PX459-030AI. The connector for the PX459-030AI transducer is shown as an M12 connector, but it doesn't state whether the M12 connector is Male or Female.

    Hi. Is it possible to re-range existing sensors? We have a few 409 series pressure transducers that we would like to calibrate for another pressure range than that originally purchased for.

    The wiring for Model PX409-015G5V Shows the red wire is + EXC. What is +EXC and how is it applied? It different than +24vdc supply?

    How do I install this sensor in a pipe?

    This sensor has a 1/4 npt male pipe thread as it's process connection. You will need to install a 1/4 npt female fitting on your pipe. On small diameter pipes you can usually install at tee fitting in-line with the pipe that would have this connection.

    I have Item# PX409-015VUSBH, 0 to -15, vacuum. Occasionally, there will be small amounts of positive pressure applied to the gauge, no more than 2 psi. Will this potentially damage the gauge? How much positive pressure can I apply until it does damage.

    Hello, Thank you for contacting Omega Engineering, occasional small positive pressures in the magnitude or one or two psi should not damage the diaphragm significantly. It is however not recommended since it may affect your zero balance over time.

    Does the pressure transducer have a specific install orientation? Any problems with a horizontal verses vertical install?

    Typically the readings are not effected by orientation. You may see a shift in the readings on the very low pressure range (0 to 10"H2O and 0 to 1 PSI) if you change orientation but you should be able to calibrate that out in your readout device.

    On the Omega software for USB PT: If anything happens that makes the program freeze up (unplugging the PT) or laptop die (power out) the past data seems lost forever. I've looked for a log file but cannot find anything. How can I recover the data?

    Can the PX409 series be used to measure oil pressure? I cannot find any info stating the acceptable mediums.
