These general purpose platinum RTD sensor probes contain Omega's Platinum thin film RTD elements connected directly to PFA insulated and jacketed cable without the need for extension wires or metal transition fittings. This design makes for a more compact and reliable RTD replacement probe sensor where space limitations are a factor.

Does Omega have solid models (STEP files or Solidworks) for this unit?

What does this sensor connect to? I see 3 leads, what’re they for?

This is a 3-wire RTD sensor. The 3-lead wire can be connected to a controller or other data Acquisition system if they are compatible with RTD output. The 3-wire RTD configuration is the most commonly used RTD circuit design and can be seen in industrial process and monitoring applications. In this configuration, two wires link the sensing element to the monitoring device on one side of the sensing element, and one links it on its other side. The resistance meter can measure the resistance of the two-wire loop in isolation and by dividing this measurement by two, obtains an estimate of the per-wire resistance for each connecting wire in the circuit. Because this is an averaged result, the measurement will be accurate only if all three connecting wires have the same resistance.
