Product Specs

The OS-651 thermometer is rugged, compact and easy-to-use for non-contact temperature measurements in industrial and maintenance applications. Fast and accurate, Models OS-651 and OS-651-LS (with optional laser sighting) both feature adjustable emissivity from 0.10 to 0.99, making them well suited for surface measurements. Both have standard 0.1 mV per degree output which can be sent to a recorder or datalogging device. The Model OS-651-LS features a laser sight for applications that require precise sighting to ensure accurate measurements.

Caution: This product and all in the series are not for use in medical evaluations. These products cannot be used to measure body temperature. They are meant for industrial and scientific purposes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Request for Engineering Support I purchased this in an attempt to measure temperature of molten Aluminum. We are an aluminum foundry and pouring temperature of the material is critical to not only the flow but also its hydrogen pickup. I am having trouble with getting consistent results and am not sure this will work for our application. We are attempting to measure the temperature both in the melting crucible and while material is actually being poured - can not get the emissivity setting to get the actual metal temperature. Is this the wrong application of what I purchased? Please review and advise. The actual ordering process was seamless - Omega did an excellent job letting us know the status of the order and delivered exactly as advertised - an excellent system and response so greatly appreciated in this day of high promises and low performance. Great Job!
