OMEGA introduces its Cement-On, fast response Foil Thermocouples for fast surface temperature measurement applications in three convenient styles. Styles 1, 2 are made from 0.005" thermocouple alloy & Style 1- B made by 0.008"  by a special process where the butt welded thermocouple junction  Styles 1, and 2 are flat, extremely low inertia construction and are an ideal means of measuring the temperature of both flat and curved metals, plastic and ceramic surfaces where very fast response is desired.

OMEGA's Cement-On Style 1,1-B and 2 Foil Thermocouples are fabricated from ANSI "Special Limits of Error" grade thermocouple materials in "K", "E" and "T" calibrations and yield accurate temperature indication when used with standard thermocouple instrumentation. Styles 1, 1-B and 2 have the fastest response. Style 3 is an economy version constructed from 0.010" diameter bead welded standard limit of error thermocouple wire. It should be used where extremely fast response is not essential.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but... Does what they are supposed to. COT-1 However the Small diameter wire is not the best for constant re-use. Stripped wire length not good for the miniature connectors SMPW and HMPW. if you want to use the little rubber grommet that comes with the connectors you will need to re-strip the bare ends. And seeing as the price has gone up. The search is always on for an alternative.

Is this one thermocouple per pack? Or more?

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your inquiry. This thermocouple is sold as an individual item, quantity 1.

What is the accuracy of these thermocouples?

Asked by: Adele
These thermocouples meet "special limits of error" specs. For type "T" accuracy is +/- 0.5 deg C or 0.4% of reading, whichever is greater; for types K, J and E, accuracy is +/- 1.1 deg C or 0.4% of reading, whichever is greater.

What type of cable does thermocouple CO1-T come with? What is the wire awg, jacket/insulation material, center conductor material, and is the cable shielded?

Asked by: Omar T
Thank you for your inquiry. Styles 1 and 2 are made from 0.13 mm (0.0005”) thermocouple alloy. The cable insulation is Fiberglass. It is not shielded. Conductors for CO1-T are Copper (+ve) and Constantan (-ve).

The product description mentions the response time is in miliseconds, but could you specify what the exact response time is?

Asked by: jshedd
If you click on "Data Sheet (PDF)" below the bulletized statements, that will open the spec sheet. At the bottom of the page, you will find the response times in milliseconds.

What is the minimum temperature your CO1-K thermocouples will operate at? I see the low end of the "Process Temperature Range" in the specs above is 0°C. I assume they can operate lower, if calibrated independently? If so, what is the minimum temperature?

Asked by: MikeC
Thank you for your inquiry. The minimum temperature that the CO1-K can measure is 0 C due to being made with Special Limits of Error (SLE) wire. Special Limits of Error Wire (SLE) made products are only spec’d out for temperatures above 32°F (0°C). So, anything below 32°F (0°C) does not comply with the SLE specification. We don't state an accuracy for SLE Wire-Made Products below 0°C (32°F). Accuracy testing shows it is no longer linear. We cannot certify or guarantee the accuracy for temperatures below 0 C.

Cement on type CO2-K thermocouple with 6" leads,.... What is the best way to extend those leads to wire, then to connector..... do you have instruction on how to do this? Or do you sell a connector for this?....
