The CSi32 Series is Omega's benchtop
controllers. They feature a 1/32 DIN
size (96 x 48 mm) digital panel
controller in a rugged benchtop
metal enclosure. The controller
used is Omega's award winning and
patented iSeries with color-changing
display. The iSeries meters feature
the only LED displays that can be
programmed to change color
between RED, GREEN, and AMBER at any setpoint or alarm point.
Other options include, serial
controllers can be purchased with the input
factory configured for one of 10
common types of
thermocouples, multiple RTD
types, or process (DC) voltage
and current. They are ideal for
laboratory use and applications requiring portable temperature and
process control. Pre-wired input and
output receptacles in the rear of the
case enable quick and easy
connections to power, input, power
output and digital communications.
The iSeries are full PID controllers
with Autotune and can also be
programmed for On/Off
control via the front panel or
through the use of a PC and
the free configuration

designed to interface with

Poor Product supportThe heaters function perform as expected for the most part. I am happy to use them in my set up as it is now. However, the dead band setting defaulting to 20 degrees which wasn't clearly stated in the manual on the product page. The 20 degree dead band explains why it wouldn't work when I set the set point within 20 of ambient. 2-5 degrees is normal, but 20 is large. Now that I have changed that setting, it works and I am happy to have them.

Incomplete comm documentation without demo codeI am a system integrator. I purchased this unit at the request of my customer because he had another one like it in his lab; however, that unit was set up manually one time from the front panel and never changes. The new unit must be controlled by the computer using VB.NET code that I wrote myself. Even after repeated requests, Omega was never able to produce a document explaining the meaning of the cryptic acronyms in Table 5.3 of the comm manual (M3397CN), there was no demo code offered, and the free unit configurator only provides one-way communication from the computer to the device so it does not even allow for reverse engineering the comm events. Those are simple product support items that I assumed would be present such as in the competitors' products that I've used. This unit took me much more time to integrate into the customer's system than I'd planned, will be an on-going headache as the customer asks me to make changes and add features, and I will only purchase it again if I can't specify something better.

Works As Advertised, and keeps on working!!!I've owned one for ~2 years and just purchased 2 more. They control temperature in our lab scale Nickel plating paths to with in a degree.
