Tolerances The diameter and "out of roundness" of OMEGA's insulators is plus or minus 5% or ±0.015", whichever is greater. The straightness is at least 1/32 inch for each six-inch length. The following table lists the maximum recommended wire diameters which should be used with six-inch sections. Closer tolerances are permissible with shorter sections, but the minimum clearance tolerance is ±5% or 0.015 inch, whichever is greater.
OMEGATITE™ 450 This is an impervious, recrystallized, pure alumina ceramic containing over 99.8% Al2O3. It has the most superior gas and vacuum tightness and electrical insulating properties at elevated temperatures. It is non-reactive and recommended for use with platinum, as well as tungsten and molybdenum thermocouple alloys. The maximum service temperature is 1900°C (3450°F).

Not Good - UndersizedBought for insulating a thermocouple. Good material for the price. However, when trying to place thermocouples, we found (through measurements with plug gauges) that these were undersized. Would not buy again.

Excellent high temp TC insulatorsI have used this product in the lab for years in a high temp environment reaching more than 1500 C. Excellent product.

NO suggestions on how to cut thisI wrote an email for help cutting these off and got unreasonable answers.
I recommend you sell the dremmel tool to use to cut these as part of your offerings.

Consistently good product.Never had any problem using this tube for TC placement over many years of experience.
We have received a ceramic single round insulator that calls ORX-132116-24 which was produced by Omega, There is a number as PCDMO02638 on the product label. We are trying to ensure traceability with using this number. What is this number.

Thank you for your inquiry. The only number you should reference is the model number ORX-132116-24. The other number is an internal reference number and it can be ignored.
