Product Specs

The OM-DVCV is a self-contained, precision AC current and AC voltage Data Logger.

The OM-DVCV can record voltage up to 600 Vac and current up to 300 Aac. The OM-DVCV records true RMS AC current and AC voltage. It measures RMS signals up to the 21st harmonic at 60 Hz. The OM-DVCV can store up to 21,672 points when recording both voltage and current. It can store up to 43,344 samples when recording only voltage or only current.

The OM-DVCV features a display that allows the user to see measured current, voltage and power (in Watts). In addition, the unit graphs the current and voltage that has been logged during the current logging session. A summary screen shows information about the logging session, such as the logging rate, the number of samples recorded, the length of the recording and the amount of time left for recording.

Easy-to-use Windows software is included with the OM-DVCV. The software is a full-featured program that allows you to set-up all data logger functions including sampling rate, logging duration, start mode, logging mode, and high and low alarm values. Once data has been logged, the program then allows you to download data from the logger, plot the data and export the data to an ASCII text or Excel® file format for further analysis.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Still trying to get a working unit I purchased this unit, and it failed to work right out of the box. The software did not automatically install as required, leaving us puzzled and unable to do anything. We were able to display measurements on the unit, but only the voltage appeared to work. The current reading always indicated 0.0, even with a test circuit where we had other meters attached. It required a couple of tech support calls before the unit was diagnosed as defective. I'm hoping the replacement works as designed.

Minor problem initially with usb driver not on the mini cd supplied. Went to omega website found it and downloaded. Works well and interesting trends showing up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value We are measuring the site load of an existing off-grid installation, and the unit has been ideal. Very easy to use out of the box. The only issue is that the it takes a little fiddling to get the USB driver to work, but that is minor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Unit Nice little unit to measure both current & voltage. I used this device to monitor the cycle time of an air compressor motor. I was able to set it to sample the voltage every 30 seconds over a two week period. The only negatives are the size of the included alligator clips which were too large for my application. Also, you need to visit the Omega website to download the correct software. It is available for various computer operating systems which were not included in the package.

The manu states for continuous monitoring an isolation transformer should be used. Is this required if the computer is on a different phase of power? If an isolation transformer is used what are the recommend voltages ratios?

Will this device record voltage interruptions with details about interruption (like time, date, time of interruption and the interval of interruption)??

Thank you for your question. This logger will take a reading at the specified sampling rate, if the voltage interruption is not long enough the unit may not even reflect it. Sampling interval is user selectable from 1 second to 9 hours, in 1 second increments.

It is possible to connect to 480vac 3 phase equipment?

Do you have a device that would measure current on 3 AC phases or do I need 3 separate units?

The OM-DVCV is designed for single phase only, unfortunately we do not carry a 3-phase logger.

You have to configure the logger with the software before using and make sure you enable the current channel.

I need to monitor electrical power supplied by local power company into my breaker panel. Will this work and what is best way to connect meter? Each leg is 120 volts coming into breaker box, and will be energized when connecting meter.

The unit has leads with alligator clips for connecting to the voltage source you want to monitor and it comes with a current clamp to monitor current.

We need to check for stray voltage and amperage on a pipe system and determine what time the spikes happen. Will this unit monitor voltage and amperage continuously for a week? And will I be able to export that information to my computer. Thanks

The unit does not log continuously it logs at a set sample rate so depending on how long the spikes occur it may or may not record it depending on your sample rate. The unit comes with software to down load it and you can save the data as a CSV text file to export to Excel.
