The FMA5400A/5500A mass flow controllers feature a built-in normally-closed electromagnetic valve for maintaining a constant flowrate regardless of variations in inlet or outlet pressures. The setpoint is controlled either locally via a potentiometer accessible through an access window in the case or remotely via an analog 0-5 Vdc or 4-20 mA signal (field selectable). The FMA5400A/5500A series require 12 to 26 Vdc power @ 800 mA maximum, which can be supplied by the FMA545PW wall plug-in socket power supply. 12 to 15 Vdc power @ 800 mA maximum (Sizes 43,44, and 45 ONLY). Model number FMA545C (supplied separately) provides a mating 15-pin “D” connector with 8 feet of shielded cable for accessing the analog output signals and power input connections. The LCD supplied with the FMA5500A series is connected to the lower electronics via a modular plug. The LCD can be remotely located by purchasing an FMA18RC remote cable assembly–you must then build your own assembly for panel mounting the LCD.

Love them
Great MFCs at a quick turn around, we use them in many applications. Some times in multiple flows.

Does the FMA5400A/5500A both measure and control flow rate? Or will I need two separate products?
Thank you for your inquiry for the mass flow controller. First, it is advised to use as a controller to control the gas and can be used as a flow meter, in the event that you do not have the means to measure flow rate only. You can use the override Purge on PINS 3 & 4 for 15 minutes at a time and this is due to the cylinder becoming hot and needs to cool down to the touch.

I have an FMA5508A-ST MFC with me and I have used it with many gases like Ar, He, etc. I wanted to know is it compatible with water vapors? I wanted to use around 10% water vapor in Ar for my experiments. Thanks in advance.
Thank you for your inquiry about the MFC. Unfortunately, the MFC work best with clean, dry gases and can sustain relative humidity, non-condensing gases, up to 70%.

We required Flow controllers for Methane gas & flow is 34LPM & second one for Propane gas 350 Liter per hours. Kindly suggest us your best module for the same.
Thank you for your inquiry about the mass fow controllers. It would be recommended to use the FMA5528A for methane gas and FMA5520A for propane gas and will need to create a customized part number for the flow controllers mentioned and then, have it loaded onto the web site to prepare a quote.

I need to set flow rates, but I don't see a way to key in my settings, so how exactly this works? I have a FMA5518A-C
Thank you for your inquiry! The flow rate can be controlled through either locally or remotely depending on preference. Local control requires the use of the local set point potentiometer on the back of the unit. For remote control 0-5 VDC or 4-20 mA reference signals will be needed to adjust the flow.
