We did find some of the strips reacted to the heat and one eventually did give us correct readings. I have to assume this was a fluke and with update the review once we receive the new strips. Customer service was very good dealing with the issue.

What is the reaction time for the strip to change color. I want to test an overcurrent event that could be less than a second. The conductor I am using should heat up momentarily and then cool off. is 1 second enough of a contact to change color?

The response time for the temperature labels is one second so it is not 100% positive that it will react quickly enough for this application.

Does the surface to which you apply the label need to be 100% flat? If not, what is the most curved surface these labels can be applied to?

The Temperature Labels are flexible and can be attached to a curved surface. The bend radius has not been established but down to a 1/2" should be fine.
