OMEGA™ sturdy multi-pin connectors provide an efficient means of joining multiwire thermocouple cables. They can be used with multiple OMEGA extension stranded wire for rapid, convenient connections and for dismantling an apparatus without handling individual sensors. When used with MTC Series pins, the connector design utilizes a combination of resilient and rigid dielectric insulators to eliminate internal air voids and prevent the passage of air and moisture into or through the connector. Connectors can withstand ambient temperatures to 200°C (392°F), contributing to an extended connector life.

Important Notes
1. MS Standard Assembly Tools are required to crimp and assemble connectors properly. Order with first purchase.
2. Match pins and sockets to thermocouple alloys–Example: A 12-cavity connector carries 6 thermocouple circuits (pairs) requiring: 6 positive alloy pins or sockets and 6 negative alloy pins or sockets per body.
3. Order bodies in mating pairs. Style MC mates with both style FF and style FC.
4. Backshell cable clamps are recommended with each cord style connector.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be 5 stars BUT... I like these connectors. They do what they are supposed to. But, trying to figure out what you need is difficult. It would be better if you offered a preconfigured kit with all you need. And, this stuff is too expensive.

Do these connectors come with pins or are they sold separate?

Asked by: dbcarman
Thank you for connecting with Omega. The pins and sockets for the MTC series connectors are sold separate. Each pin and socket is made with thermocouple specific metals to match the wire.

What is the criteria used to validate the MTC-CT crimping tool? Is there a pull test limit or crimp indent location range verification? If the crimp indent is not centered between the inspection hole and the bell mouth of the contact is this acceptable?

Asked by: Crimpy
Thank you for your inquiry Crimpy. Due to the complexity of your question, please send an email to temp@omega.com and one of our engineers will assist you in finding this information.

Some of these connectors had yellow bands and some have red bands. Some have a darker sealing material and other with a lighter red-orange color. Is there a significants to the difference in colors? Will this work with the same contact?

Asked by: Crimpy
Thank you for the inquiry. There is no significance to the different colors. They work with the same contacts HPC and MTC series; https://assets.omega.com/pdf/connectors/thermocouple-and-rtd-connectors/HPC_CONTACTS.pdf https://assets.omega.com/pdf/connectors/thermocouple-and-rtd-connectors/MTC.pdf Best regards OMEGA

Is there a drawing of the MTC-55-FF connector. No sizes listed for hole or connector outline dimensions. Currently use the MTC-24-FF so need to know dimensions to change to higher pin count. Also there are HTC alumel chromel contacts ad also MTC Alumel

Asked by: DC Kazoo
The dimensions of the MTC connectors for all pin counts can be found in the manual which is linked from the product page.

I have an process oven mapping application. Do you have a high temperature connector good for up to 400 degrees C? # of pins could vary, have 36 thermocouples in two ovens. (4)-9's or (3)'s would work.

Asked by: Steve55
Omega does not have a multipin connector that is suitable for use in 400C environments. There is a high temperature jack panel series SHXJP that can be used well above 400 C with SHX ceramic connectors.
