The UTC-USB universal thermocouple connector accepts the signal from any of 9 thermocouple types, and lets you display actual temperature readings on your PC, through a standard USB port. The UTC-USB provides automatic cold junction compensation and linearization the free software lets you select the thermocouple type and units, and then use your PC as a meter, chart recorder or data logger.

The UTC-USB features Omega’s patented universal input connection, so you can quickly attach both standard and miniature size thermocouple connectors. A standard USB cable is included for fast hook-up to your PC.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Misleading description regarding software The webpage indicates that this includes software and a manual. The "quick start" sheet (see picture) that comes with it says there's a manual and a software disk. Customer service indicated the software is a download (yeah, I know), but they would check and get back to me. Never heard from them again. Not all of our lab computers have internet access. Yes, I know how to transfer the files, but the promised disk that I thought I was paying for would have been appreciated. I did get a one sheet "quick-start" instruction, but definitely nothing I would call a "manual". Web page and included minimal documentation should be corrected to not indicated "included" software and manual.

Gives us the flexibility to perform testing remotely instead of having to check the measurements on-site. The accompanied software is intuitive, easy to use, and allows easy export of data.

I bought this for a quick and dirty temp monitor for use in the engineering lab. The graph clearly shows 0.1C resolution, but the datalog only shows integral values for temperature. How can I get the software to record the full resolution?

I need a turnkey temperature monitoring solution I can plug into a PC running Linux (Ubuntu 18.04 LTS). Do you have an apt/script/driver we can use or are we on our own with a prayer, and a protocol reference document?

I have a utc-usb module withh sn 1909111. Somehow the offsets for the S/N in the software got zeroed out, so its not reading right. Do you have a record of the offsets or know if there is a way to recover? Thanks, in advance.

That is not something that is repairable in the field please contact customer service to have the unit brought in for repair.

Can the utc-usb (and link) work at low pressure (10-7 mbar) or is there any contraindindication ? What is the pressure limit ?

What do you recommend for calibration?

Hello Jenny The unit itself does not require calibration, though in the event the thermocouple or temperature readings that come up are not in tolerance at a constant measurement, in the manual it shows that you can do a negative/positive offset adjustment if required.
