The LDI-119 Series LVIT (Linear Variable Inductive Transducer) position sensors from OMEGA™ are contactless devices designed for factory automation and a variety of industrial and commercial applications such as motor sport vehicles, automotive testing, solar cell positioners, wind turbine prop pitch and brakes, and packing equipment. With their compact device, superior performance, and excellent stroke-to-length ratio, the LDI-119 sensors are ideal for both industrial testing, laboratories, and OEM applications.

LDI-119 sensors are offered in 6 full scale ranges from 25 to 200 mm (1 to 8"). Operating from a variety of DC voltages, these sensors offer a choice of outputs and all include the field programmability calibration feature. LDI-119 products come with radial exiting cable and two swivel rod eye ends for easy installation.

The LDI series also include a larger body version, the LDI-127, for those applications needing a heavier duty unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product but suggest some improvements I installed this on linkage to provide stable position feedback to control a drive motor. It worked great. I would suggest making the connection points a little larger. This unit will take a 10-32 screw. I would have preferred a 1/4-20. Also I note the cable length in the description. I bought a 100mm unit with 4-20 ma signal

For the LDI-119-025-A010A (25mm) can you position the arm in a mid stroke position (i.e. 1/2" travel), set that position as zero, and then read the travel in each direction with 1/2" of travel available in each direction?

Asked by: Mike2024
Mike, The LDI-119 series is not a bipolar device, so you will not be able to set the zero at 1/2 stroke. Typically for these devices, you will read 10 volts when it is fully retracted and 0 volts when fully extended.

How wide does the clevis jaw need to be to interface with these? The drawing shows a 5mm ID on the rod end, but a width is not specified.

Asked by: measurer
The width of the rod ends used on the LDI-119 Series are 0.31". The tolerance of this dimension is +/- 0.005"

What standard lengths are available for the cable, and an estimate for each length, please? Do you make sensors with customized cable lengths?

Asked by: Naser
Thank you for your inquiry, the LDI series only comes with a 1 M cable. Unfortunately we are not able to customize the cable length on this sensor. You can extend the cable using a 4 conductor shielded cable. we offer this type of cable in 100' spools. Part# TX4-100

Will the these sensors work a strong DC magnetic filed?

Asked by: Gorr
Thank you for your question? The units would be effected by the magnetic-field. The amount of disruption we are unable to tell? Hope this was helpful?

Is the output convertible to "plug and play" USB for a desktop?

Asked by: SteveJ
Thanks for your question. The LDI-119 are only available with an analog output of either 0-10 Vdc or 4-20 mAdc. We do not offer a "plug and play" USB converter for this. You could connect it to a computer using a USB data acquisition system but there would be some initial setup required. A good option for this would be the INET-600 USB Data Acquisition System with an INET-510 screw terminal box. Free software is included. You would also need a 24 Vdc power supply for the sensor. The PSR-24L would be suitable and could power multiple sensors if needed. Our Tech Support engineer has also emailed you if you have any further questions.
