Do you recommend using heat transfer paste ?

Asked by: Vivek
Omega in general does not recommend heat transfer paste be used as the drilled out hole should be tight with direct metal to metal contact.

1. Which Incoloy alloy is used? 2. Can I use heater CIR-3041/240V to slowly heat lithium chloride to 650 C (MP 605 C) in an insulated alumina crucible in an argon atmosphere? I'll first coat the heater & leads with Saint-Gobain's Cera-Glide BN coating.

Asked by: hthalljr
Thank you for the inquiry. Please forward this question and application to Temp@Omega.com. Best regards OMEGA

What is the best way to install these? Is it possible to weld them to a cap?

Asked by: tony333
The Cartridge Heaters are install in drilled out holes with a very tight fit. Guidelines can be sent to you if you request them from heaters@omega.com. Omega does not have any experience with welding these Heaters to offer advice.

Is there any risk on having two of these touching each other at their ends? We are trying to have two of this stacked vertically inside a tube and was wondering if they can touch each other

Asked by: tony333
Thank you for your inquiry. Heaters should never be in contact with each other except at there wire termination. Contact anywhere else can cause 'hotspots' on either heater which will lead their failure while in process.
