30AWG T-type TC wire (PFA)
This is a quality wire and the there is nothing wrong with the physical properties of the wire. However, the color coding is very difficult to see on this thin wire. I have bought the same spec'd 30AWG wire from another vendor and the colors were very easy to distinguish from them. That is the only knock I have on this wire.

Great Thermocouple Wire
Very easy to work with. Twist the ends together, solder and you are ready to take measurements. We use this wire with thermal epoxy to mount to test points on enclosures and PCB assemblies. For smaller parts and devices, you will want the finer gauge wire. This wire works well for measuring power FETs, heatsinks, leads, and packages of larger components as well as thermal characterization of a larger enclosure.

Previously purchased material number TT-T-30-SLE(ROHS) no longer is offered on your website. It appears the ROHS compliance is not longer available? Neither copper nor constantan contain lead, and other mfg. PFA insulated cable is ROHS compliant.
Thank you for your inquiry. Omega still offers the TT-T-30-SLE wire with the ROHS compliance but you'll have to enter the part number manually in the order box using the ROHS suffix. For example TT-T-30-SLE-100-ROHS. If the specific wire size that you are wishing to order fails to be valid please contact the Sales Dept and have them assist with that order. Omega's standard spool sizes are 25', 50', 100', 200', 500' and 1000'.

How fast is the response for this type of wire? How long would I need to expose this wire to an environment to obtain an accurate reading? What is the time needed for this wire to reset to ambient temperature?
Thermocouple wire itself does not have a response time. If you were to weld the two wires together to form a sensing junction and if the weld bead that was formed were no larger that 2.5 times the diameter of any one wire leg you might see a response time of about 4.5 seconds on an AWG 24 wire. If the wire size is larger the response time will be longer, conversely, smaller gauge wire can yield a faster time response. This again is determined by the method of forming the sensing junction where the two wires meet.

Whats the maximum sampling rate for this particular thermocouple?
Thermocouple wire has no sampling rate. Thermocouples themselves have a certain response time (and that value depends on the model number of the thermocouple) but neither sample rate nor response time are applicable to wire such as this. Thank you.

Website indicates TT-T-20 is only rated for use down to 32 degrees F. Can I use it down to -320 degreesF?
Thanks for your inquiry. Our wire will go well below zero—most types down to the cryogenic range (~196 deg C or -320 deg F); however, the ASTM-E-230 tolerance specification which Omega's wire conforms to specifically states that wire is normally selected to meet tolerances ABOVE 0 deg C. So while we do guarantee the specs for 0 deg C and above, you may very well find that below zero the wire will still be in specs, but we cannot and are not required to guarantee that. If customers need special accuracy down at the low end, we do offer calibration at customer-specified sub-zero points. This will provide the actual deviation at specific points of concern.
